情态动词would的用法归纳
一、Would是will的过去式，可用于各人称，表示过去时间的"意志"、"愿望"和"决心"等。
例句：
（1）他说要尽一切可能来帮助我们。
He declared that he would do everything to help us.
我告诉彼得我要跟他一块去。
（2）I told peter that I would go along with him.
二、would用来表示现在时间时不论是表达说话人本身的意志或向对方提出请求，均较will婉转。
例句：
（1）请跟我们谈谈你自己好吗?
Would you tell us something about yourself?
（2）请告诉我去最近的公共汽车站怎么走好吗?
Would you please tell me the way to the nearest bus-stop?
三、Would还可以表示过去习惯发生的动作
例句：
我发现退休的人经常到公园里下棋。
I found that retired persons would often go to the park to play chess.
当他有个问题要解决时，他总是想办法一直到找到答案为止。
When he had a problem to solve，he would work at it until he found an answer.
四、would+完成式"表示对过去情况的猜测。
例句：
旅游团可能已经到纽约了。
The tour group would have reached New York.
我以为你知道了。我以为马克西姆会告诉你的。
I thought you knew. I thought Maxim would have told you.
五、would与虚拟条件句 表示虚拟、假设、条件等，有"要、将要、会、就会"等意思。
例句：
如果你早点来，你就会见到他了。
If you had come earlier，you would have seen him.
最好采用这种新方法。
It would be better to adopt the new method.
注：有时用would，可视为是省略了或包含有相关条件的虚拟语气。
