美国电影《猫鼠游戏》（莱昂纳多、汤姆汉克斯主演）中，莱昂纳多扮演的Frank是个大骗子，假扮Pan Am（泛美航空公司）的飞行员到处行骗，有一个情节是他来到一个大酒店。

大堂接待员背后的墙壁上写着几个烫金大字REGISTRATION。

先解释这个词registration。 大家熟悉register这个词，可做动词或名词，“登记”的意思；那registration肯定也跟“登记”有关，在酒店里可以理解为“登记处”，the place where you have to write your name and details on a list。它还有一些其它用法，如：

（1）The registration fee is $75.（注册费$75。）

（2）Student registration starts the first week in September.（学生入学登记从9月第一周开始。）

（3）May I see your license and registration, ma'am?（女士，请出示一下驾驶证和行驶证）。

来看电影对话。

Receptionist: Have you stayed with us before?

Frank：Uh, no, I've been primarily based on the West Coast. Is it all right if I write you a check for the room?

Receptionist: No problem, sir.

Frank: Great. Uh...I was also wondering if I could write you a personal check?

大意：（其中加黑的是常用语句。）

前台接待：您住过我们酒店吗？

Frank：没有，我以前基本都飞西海岸。可以用支票来支付房费吗？

前台接待：没问题，先生。

Frank：太好了。我能不能用个人支票支付？

解析：

现在付房费一般用信用卡或现金，这句话可以改成：Is it all right if I use a credit card?

     如果你像Frank一样入住的是星级酒店，以下是常用对话。

1. 一进酒店

Welcome to our hotel, sir/madam. 欢迎光临我们酒店，先生/女士。

We're glad to have you here. 我们很高兴您来到这儿。

I'm always at your service, sir/madam. 随时为您效劳，先生/女士。

May I take your bags for you? 需要为您提包吗？

May I help you with your suitcase? 需要为您提箱子吗？

2. 来到前台

（接待）I'm the receptionist here. Welcome to our hotel. 我是这儿的接待员，欢迎来到我们酒店。

（客人）I'd like a double room/ a twin room/ a single room/ a standard room．我要一个双人间/两张床的双人间/单人间/标准间。

I'd like a single room with bath．我要一个带卫浴的单人间。

By the way, I'd like a quiet room away from the street if it is possible．顺便帮我看看有没有不临街的安静房间。

如果你要的是双人间，接待人员可能还会问你：Do you need a double bed or two singles? （双人间，您要双人床还是两张单人床的？）

3.问价格

（客人）What is the rate, please？请问房费多少？

（接待）The current rate is $60 per night．现行房费是60美元一天（注意酒店的房钱是按“每晚”多少来算）。

（接待）You can have a single room or a double. It makes no difference to the price.双人间、单人间价格一样，你要哪个都行。
