相信大家最熟悉的fix的意思是以下两个：

其实它用法很多，看一些例子：

1. to prepare a meal or drinks

例：

I have to fix supper now. 我得做晚饭了。

Sit down. I’ll fix you a martini/drink. 坐吧，我给你倒杯martini（鸡尾酒）/饮料。

I can fix you a sandwich if you’re hungry. 你要是饿了，我就给你做个三明治。

I have to be back by six to fix dinner. 我得6:00前到家做饭。

“做吃的”也可以用“cook”，“make”，“prepare”：

（1）We cooked a ton of food for the party. 我们准备了好多好多派对食物。

用法上有一些区别：

cook一般表示用“加热法”烹制；

make可以指“加热法”烹制，也可以指“非加热法”烹制，如做沙拉等；

fix用法跟make相近，但更比make口语化（fix在美式口语中用得多）；

prepare最正式，经常指难度很大的菜式。

2. to decide on a limit for sth, especially prices, costs etc., so that they do not change

例：

The interest rate has been fixed at 6.5%. 利率定在6.5%。

Rent was fixed at $1,700 per month. 房租定在每月$1700。

4. fix sb up: to provide someone with sth they want

Can you fix me up with a bed for the night? 今晚给我弄张床睡觉吧。

I’ll fix you up with a place to stay. 我来给你安排住处。

She’s got herself fixed up with a cozy flat (=a small, comfortable, warm flat). 她弄到了一套舒适的小公寓。
