1. what's-his-name/what's-her-name:

例：

She was with what's-his-name—you know, the one who wears orange jeans.（她和那个谁……就是那个穿橙色牛仔裤的人在一起。）

Send the report to what's-her-name in that shool.（把报告寄给那个学校的某某人。）

2. so-and-so: an expression meaning a particular person, used especially when you are mentioning someone that another person often talks about, and their actual name is not important 当你和对方谈话时讲起一个对方经常提到的人，而那个人的真实名字也不重要的时候使用

例：

Whenever you ask her about anything, it's always "so-and-so says this", or "so-and-so says that" - she never gives her own honest opinion.（不管问她什么，她总是说“某某人这样讲”、“某某人那样讲”，从来不会说自己的看法。）

They're always gossiping about so-and-so having an affair with so-and-so.（他们总是在八卦谁和谁又好上了。）

3. something:

例1：《老友记》S01E07

Chandler: Oh my God, it’s her, it's that Victoria's Secret model. Something... something Goodacre.（啊天呐，是她，维多利亚秘密内衣的模特，名字叫……某某·古达克的。 ）

例2：《老友记》S02E06

TERRY: F.Y.I. I've decided to pay a professional musician to play in here on Sunday afternoon. Her name is Stephanie something. She's supposed to be very good.（顺便通知你一下，我决定请一个专业歌手每周日下午来表演。她名字叫史蒂芬妮·某某，大家都说她不错。）

可见，''something''既可以指代“名”，也可以指代“姓”——任何想不起来的部分。

4. whatever-her-name-is:

例：《老友记》S02E06

RACHEL: Why don't you just let her go on after Stephanie whatever-her-name-is. I mean, you won't even be here. You don't pay her. It's not gonna cost you anything.（你何不让她接在史蒂芬妮·某某后面表演？反正你又不来这儿听，也不用付给她钱，对你来说没损失啊！）

5. what's-its-name/whatsit（英式英语），whatchamacallit（美式英语）: say this when you cannot remember the name of something （当你记不起某人/某物的名字时用）那个什么来着

备注：''whatchamacallit''是''What do you call it?''念快了的发音，音标['wɑtʃəməkɔlɪt]。

例：

What you need is a what's-its-name ... a torque wrench.（你得用那个，那个——定力矩扳手。）

Did you see that boy with the whatsit round his head?（头上包着那什么玩意那孩子，你看到了吗？）

"I'm going to have a whatchamacallit when I have a baby."  "What, you mean an epidural?"

6. such and such: an expression meaning a particular thing, used instead of giving examples of what you are talking about （泛泛举例）

例：

Americans are very proud of their country—they're always saying that such and such is the biggest in the whole world.（美国人很有民族自豪感，他们常说美国这又世界第一，那又世界第一。）

They will ask you to come on such and such a day, at such and such a time.（他们会叫你某天某时过去。）

7. things: something whose name you do not know exactly but that has particular features or is a type of the thing you are mentioning 你不知道某人/某物的名字，但能提起TA的特征

例：

He's got one of those electronic things, you know, that you can record all your addresses in.（他有那种电子产品，就是可以把地址都录入的那种。）
