PART 1Love Is An Open Door

Anna:
All my life has been a series of doors in my face
And then suddenly I bump into you

Hans:
I was thinking the same thing, 'cause like…

I've been searching my whole life to find my own place
And maybe it's the party talking
or the chocolate fondue

Both:
But with you…

Hans:
I found my place…

Anna:
I see your face…

Both:
And it' s nothing like I've ever known before!

Love is an open door!

With you!

Love is an open door…

Hans:
I mean it’s crazy…

Anna:
What?

Hans:
We finish each other's -

Anna:
Sandwiches!

Hans:

That's what I was gonna say!

Anna:
I've never met someone -

Both:
Who thinks so much like me!

Jinx!
Jinx again!

Our mental synchronization
Can have but one explanation

You and I were just meant to be!

Say goodbye…

To the pain of the past
We don't have to feel it anymore!

Love is an open door!
Life can be so much more!

With you!

Love is an open door…

Hans:
Can I say something crazy?
Will you marry me?

Anna:
Can I say something even crazier? Yes!

1. All my life has been a series of doors in my face.

(1)a series of “several events or actions of the same kind that happen one after another” (一系列)

例:There has been a series of attacks on tourists in the city this summer.

(2)in my face: 剧中的意思是 “Her sister has always been slamming the door in her face.”

2. bump into sb.=run into sb.

3. fondue: [fɑnˈdu] n.[U] a hot food made of melted cheese or chocolate, into which you dip small pieces of meat, fruit etc. on the end of a stick or fork

4. finish each other’s sandwiches

finish<旧词新意> to eat or drink all of something, so there is none left (吃完)

例: Angrily, she finished her beer and threw the can away.

'finish up' means to eat or drink all the rest of something.

Finish up your plate!

2Why don't you finish up the pie?

5. I've never met someone who thinks so much like me!

6. Jinx: said, especially by children, when you have just said the same thing at the same time as someone else(当你和另外一个人同时讲出同一句话时用的语气词,小孩子常用)

7. Our mental synchronization can have but one explanation.

1synchronize: v. to arrange for two or more actions to happen at exactly the same time (同步)

例:Our company must synchronize production with marketing campaigns.

(2)but: 'apart from' (除了)

例:I could come any day but Thursday.

The sales clerk was anything but helpful (=the clerk was not helpful at all).

The car has been nothing but trouble.

8. You and I were just meant to be! 或者说You and I were meant to be together.

9. If a man asks 'Will you marry me?' and a woman answers 'Yes!', then they’re engaged.

PART 2DIALOGUE AT THE PARTY

Dialogue 1

Anna: May I present, Prince Hans of Southern Isles.

Hans: Your Majesty.

(1)present: v. [pri'zent] to introduce someone formally, especially to someone important

May I present, my parents.

(2)Prince Hans of Southern Isles:“南部群岛之主汉斯王子”。

Dialogue 2

All you know is how to shut people out.

Why do you shut me out?

Why do you shut the world out?

shut sb/sth outto deliberately not let someone join in an activity or share your thoughts and feelings

Don’t just shut me out. I want to help.

Many of the working poor are being shut out of the healthcare system.
