sort through: to put things in a particular order especially you are searching for something 整理东西，尤其是为了找出某物而整理

例：

He sorted through the papers. （他整理了报纸。）

2. Amanda: Go through all these boxes of food donations, take out the really good stuff and put it into this box. （把这里的所有食物捐赠品的箱子都看过，把特别好的东西拿出来，放在这个箱子里。）

Ted: Got it. Consider it sorted . （明白了，保证会分好！）

解析：

（1） go through: to look in or at something in order to find something 翻看

例：

I went through all of our closets and I still can't find my tennis racket. （我找遍了所有柜子，都找不到我的网球拍。）

I found him going through my closet. （我发现他在翻我的柜子。）

（2） Consider it sorted.:

英语口语中 '' consider it done '' 更常见，意思是 ''you will gladly do something that somebody has asked you to do'' ，翻译成中文大意是“保证完成任务”。

例：

''Can you mail this letter for me?''  ''Consider it done!''

  （ - 可以帮我把这封信寄了吗？ - 保证完成任务！）

这里的 ''Consider it sorted.'' 是 '' consider it done '' 的变形。

另外，还要注意：在口语中， ''consider'' 最后一个字母 ''r'' 和 ''it'' 的第一个字母 ''i'' 要连读，发音 /ri/ ； ''it'' 的最后一个字母 ''t'' 要弱读，几乎不发音，听的时候请注意！

3. Robin: Hey, we're in business . （我们有活儿可干了，开始吧！）

Ted: Hey, Barney's not gonna get all the glory today. （巴尼不会独享奉献的光环了。）

解析：

in business: ready to begin doing something or using something

备注：这是较口语化的用法。

例：

Just plug in the computer and you are in business! (= you will be able to use the computer) （插上电，电脑就能用了。）

All the musicians have finally arrived, so we are in business! （乐手都来齐了，我们开始吧！）

He quickly changed the tire, and was back in business (= ready to drive again) in 10 minutes. （他迅速换好轮胎， 10 分钟后就重回赛场了。）

4. Ted: People donated this food thinking it was going to feed the hungry .

解析：

feed: 常见的意思有 ''to give food to someone or something'' 喂养。

例：

She was too weak to feed herself. （她太虚弱了，连吃东西的力气都没有。）

Don't feed the animals. （别喂动物吃东西。）

另外还有，

①      ''to give (something) as food to someone or something'' 为某人准备 / 提供某物

例：

They fed us breakfast before we left. （我们离开前，他们给我们准备了早饭。）

He was feeding information to the enemy. （他暗中给敌人提供情报。）

②      ''to provide food for someone or something'' 提供粮食

例：

He doesn't earn enough to feed a family of four. （他赚的钱不够养一家四口人。）

5. Marshall: Why are we even talking about this? This is way down the road . （干嘛现在说这个？现在说这些为时尚早。）

解析：

（1） way: 表示强调

（2） down the road : in or into the future 将来

例：

We don't know what the situation will be like a month down the road. （我们不知道一个月后情况会怎么样。）

They hope to expand the business somewhere down the road. (= at some time in the future) （他们想着将来有一天可以扩大生意规模。）

''down the road'' 另外一个意思：沿路

例：

The post office is down this road a bit. (= a short distance further on this road) （邮局沿这条路走下去一点。）

再如： So she headed down the road. （她跑出家门，沿路跑下去。）
