解析：

go down this road:

I've been/gone down this road before.

=I've had this kind of experience before.

=I've done this kind of thing before.

可以翻译成“我以前就这么干过”，也可根据上下文代入具体的“事件”，如剧中翻译成“你们本来就 约会 过”，显得比较自然。

3. Trudy: I wish I had your guts , getting up and making a complete idiot of myself . （我希望我能像你一样勇敢，喝个酩酊大醉起来高歌一曲，出足洋相。）

解析：

（1） guts: courage 勇气

例：

I know he made a mistake, but at least he had the guts to admit it! （我知道他犯错了，但他至少勇于承认错误。）

Sarah is the only one who has the guts to speak her mind. （莎拉是唯一一个敢直言不讳的人。）

The decision took a lot of guts. （做这个决定需要极大勇气。）

补充：

（2） get up:

''get up'' 较常出现的意思是“起床”，但这里的 ''get up'' 是 ''stand up'' 的意思。

例：

（3） make an idiot of yourself = make a fool of yourself : to behave in a very foolish or silly way 犯傻，出洋相

例：

I really made an idiot of myself at the party last night. （我昨晚在派对上大出洋相。）

He got drunk at the party and made a fool of himself. （他在派对上喝醉了，大出洋相。）

He's making a fool of himself over that woman. （他在那个女的面前大出洋相。）

4. Trudy: I've had a pretty serious week. I could sure stand to do something stupid. （我这周过得很郁闷，确实可以做点傻事了。）

解析：

stand: used to say that someone or something should have or do something or would be helped by something   应该做某事

备注：常和 ''could'' 连用。

例：

You look like you could stand some sleep. （你看起来很累，该睡会觉了。）

That bush could stand to be trimmed. （那棵灌木该修剪修剪了。）

5. Future Ted VO: I left Trudy a message but she never called me back. That's just how life works sometimes. You turn off your brain for a night, and all you're left with is a bad hangover, a sprained ankle. And a pineapple.
