1. cold: feeling cold 感觉冷

You look absolutely frozen. (你看起来是真的很冷。)
We were freezing cold in the tent last

3. shiver: to shake a little because
you are cold 冻得打寒颤
例:
I was shivering in my thin sleeping bag. (睡袋太薄,我冻得发抖。)
They were forced to wait outside for hours,
shivering with cold. (他们被迫在外面等了好久,冻得发抖。)
4. be blue with cold: to be so cold
that your skin turns slightly blue 冻得皮肤青紫
例:
He was huddled into his coat, his face blue
with cold. (他冻得脸色发紫,蜷缩成一团,用外套紧紧包住自己。)
Look at her. The poor girl's quite blue

5. have goose bumps: to have small
raised areas on your skin because you are cold 起鸡皮疙瘩

flesh'',英式英语中常用''goose
pimples''。

covered in goose bumps. (她冷得发抖,全身起鸡皮疙瘩。)
Why don't you put something else on? You've
got goose bumps. (你都冷得起鸡皮疙瘩了,为什么不多穿一点?)
6. somebody's teeth are chattering:
if your teeth are chattering you are so cold that your teeth keep knocking
together and you cannot stop them 冻得牙齿打颤
例:
Her teeth were chattering with cold. (她冻得牙齿直打颤。)

1. hot:
feeling hot, especially when this makes you feel uncomfortable 感觉热得不舒服
例:
I'm too hot—could you open the window? (我好热,你开下窗好吗?)
The travelers were hot, tired, and thirsty.
(游客们又热又累又渴。)
2. warm:
feeling warm when it is cold outside, especially in a way that is pleasant and
comfortable 感觉温暖(舒适)
例:
Are you nice and warm? (你感觉暖和吗?)
We had to keep moving in order to keep warm.
(我们得不断活动,才能暖和点。)
It was freezing outside but in the ski
lodge they were as warm as toast. (屋外冰天雪地,屋内却温暖舒适。)
3. boiling/roasting/baking:
to feel very hot and uncomfortable 非常热,热得不愉快
备注:通常用于口语中。"boil"原意“煮”;"roast"原意“烧烤”;"bake"原意“烘焙”。
例:
"I'm going for a swim,'' said Gary,
"I'm boiling.''(盖瑞说:“我要去游个泳,我要热死了。”)
You must be roasting in that coat. (你穿这件外套肯定热死了。)
We were roasting in the hot sun. (我们快被太阳晒死了。)
We stood baking under the hot desert sun. (我们在沙漠里快被太阳考熟了。)
4. sweltering:
if you are sweltering, you feel very hot, wet, and uncomfortable, because the
weather or the room you are in is too hot 热得浑身是汗,湿热
例:
Hundreds of children sweltering in the heat
went to the pool. (很多很多孩子汗流浃背,跑到这个泳池游泳。)
We were sweltering in the summer heat. (夏天太热,我们热得不行。)
