英语中怎么表达“我认为……”?

表达自己的意见,大家常用“我认为……”,但有时候语气又不是很确定,英语中怎么表达这个意思呢?

 

1. I think:

备注:''I think''常用于口语中。

例:

I think (that)

I think the dog must have eaten it. (我想那条狗应该已经把它吃了。)

I think so

"Is Matthew still here?" "I think so—I've just seen him."-马修还在这吗?  -应该在,我刚刚还见过他。)

I would think so

"Will Jenny be at the meeting?" "I would think so."-珍妮会来参加这个会议吗?  -我想会的。)

 

2. I suppose: say this when you think that something is probably true but you are not really sure

备注:''I suppose''常用于口语中。

例:

Having a burglar alarm makes you feel safer, I suppose. (我想,装个防盗报警器,你会觉得安全点。)

I suppose (that)

I suppose we can pay by credit card but we'd better check first. (我认为,我们可以用信用卡结账,但我们最好先确认一下。)

I suppose so (=say this to answer a question)

"Will the children be disappointed?" "Yes, I suppose so."-孩子们很失望吧? -我想是的。)

 

3. I guess: say this when you think that something is probably true but you are not really sure

备注:''I guess''常用于美式英语的口语中。

例:

Rob just got tired of living with her, I guess. (我猜,罗博不想跟她一起住了。)

I guess (that)

I guess this is the best way to do it. (我想这是最好的办法了。)

I guess so

"Is the truck safe to drive?" "I guess so."-开这辆卡车安全吗?  -我觉得安全。) 

 

4. I imagine: say this when you think that something is likely to be true, although what you say is only based on your opinion

备注:''I imagine''常用于口语中。

例:

I imagine (that)

I imagine she's stuck in a traffic jam or something. (我想她是堵车了或其他什么事耽搁了。)

I would imagine (that)

I would imagine that Lily could help you—she knows a lot about legal things. (我想莉莉可以帮你,法律的事她懂。)

 

5. get the impression/feeling/idea: to start to think something is a fact because of various things that happen, because of the way someone is behaving etc.

例:

get the impression/feeling/idea (that)

I got the impression she was actually quite nervous about it. (我感觉她非常紧张。)

Walking down the main street, you get the feeling that nothing ever happens in this town. (走在小镇的主街上,你会觉得小镇风平浪静。)

I don't want you to get the idea that I don't like him. (我不想让你觉得我不喜欢他。)

"He thinks you're angry with them." "Where on earth did he get that idea?"-他觉得你生他们的气了。 -他怎么会有这种感觉的?!)

 

6. as far as I know/aware: say this when you think that something is true, although you realize that you may not know all the facts

备注:''as far as I know/aware''常用于口语中。

例:

As far as I know, Caroline's never been married. (据我所知,凯洛琳没结过婚。)

As far as I am aware, Mr White and his family are still living in New York. (据我所知,怀特先生一家人现在还住在纽约。)

 

7. to the best of my knowledge: say this when you want to make it clear that you are not completely sure about the statement you are making

备注:''to the best of my knowledge''是口语中正式的表达法。

例:

To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time that anyone has translated these poems into English. (据我所知,这是这些诗首次翻译成英文。)

 

8. I take it: say this when you think that something is true and you are asking someone else to tell you that you are right

备注:''I take it''常用于口语中。

例:

I take it (that)

I take it that you're Rob's sister? (你是罗博的姐姐,对吗?)

So can we take it that you'll be at the meeting? (你会来参加这个会议?对吗?)

You've made plans for the future, I take it? (你已经做好打算了,是吗?)
