（一） 看电影

1. film : a story that is told using sound and moving pictures

备注： ''film'' 常用于英式英语中，美式英语中常作 ''movie'' 。

例：

Are there any good movies on TV tonight? （今晚电视上有什么好看的电影？）

What's your favorite James Bond film? （你最喜欢詹姆斯·邦德的哪部影片？）

see a film/movie

Have you seen any good films lately? （你最近看了什么好看的电影了吗？）

I saw an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie on the plane - I can't remember its name. （我坐飞机时看了一部阿诺·施瓦辛格演的电影，现在记不起那部电影的名字了。）

watch a film/ movie

We watched the movie and ate popcorn. （我们边看电影边吃爆米花。）

take in a movie （常用于美式英语中）

Maybe we could go out to dinner and take in a movie. （我们该出去吃顿饭再看场电影。）

catch a movie

We could catch a movie. （我们可以去看场电影。）

2. go to the cinema : to go to a cinema in order to see a film

备注： ''go to the cinema'' 常用于英式英语中，美式英语中常作 ''go to the movies'' 。

例：

The last time I went to the cinema was when I saw 'Stigmata'. （我看的上一部电影是《圣痕》。）

Do you want to go to the movies this weekend? （你这周末想去看电影吗？）

How about going to a movie? （去看场电影怎么样？）

（二）电影上映 / 放映：

1. be on/be playing : if a film is on or is playing at a cinema, it is being shown there

例：

'Three Kings' is on at the Phoenix at the moment. （《夺金三王》现在在凤凰城上映。）

Spielberg's new blockbuster is currently playing at over 2000 theaters nationwide. （斯皮尔伯格的新电影正在全国上映， 2000 多家影院同时播出。）

What's on at the cinema this weekend? （周末什么片子上映？）

2. a movie is released : becomes available for the public to see

例：

The movie has already been released in the US. （这部电影已经在北美上映了。）

3. show/screen a movie :

例：

What movies are they showing this weekend? （这周末放什么电影？）

（三）演电影：

1. star in a movie : play one of the main characters

例：

Depp will star in director Tim Burton's next movie. （戴普还将主演蒂姆·伯顿的下一部影片。）

2. a movie stars/features somebody :

例：

a movie starring Will Smith （一部由威尔·史密斯主演的电影）

3. appear in/be in a movie :

例：

She's also appeared in ten movies. （她还参演过 10 部电影。）

（四）“电影”有哪些同义词？

1. motion picture : a film - used especially by people who make films or by critics

备注： ''motion picture'' 是正式的用法，电影制作人或影评家常常这么称呼。也可以简称作 ''picture'' 。

例：

a Hollywood motion picture （一部好莱坞电影）

Tell us about your latest picture. （跟我们说说你最新的电影吧。）

2. blockbuster : a very successful film

备注： ''blockbuster'' 是非正式的用法。

例：

备注： ''flick'' 是非正式的用法。
