1. keep your fingers crossed: use this to say that you hope that something will happen the way you want, when you cannot do anything to affect what happens

例:

"Have you had your test results yet?'' "No. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed.'' -

Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that this idea of yours works.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that she's going to be OK.

2. hopefully: say this when you hope something will happen

;

Hopefully we can find a way of solving this problem.

Hopefully, I'll be back home by ten o'clock.

By then the problem will hopefully have been solved.

3. with any luck : use this if somebody is lucky, if what they want to happen does happen

备注:''with any luck''常用于口语中,或者作''with a little luck'', ''with a bit of luck''

例:

With any luck, we'll have this finished by the end of the day.

With a little luck, Kate will forget all about the party.

With a bit of luck, you might get a flight tomorrow.

4. let's hope: say this when you hope that something will happen, especially because it will be very unpleasant if it does not

Let's hope we can find a parking space.

The whole thing has been nothing but heartache and worry. Let's hope nothing like it ever happens again.

5. if all goes well: say this when you hope something will be successful, but you know that success depends on everything happening in the right way

备注:''if all goes well''常用于口语中。

例:

The tunnel should be finished by 2010 if all goes well.

6. hope for the best: to hope that a situation will end well, when it is possible that something might go wrong

例:

He never uses a recipe. He just throws all kinds of food into a pan and hopes for the best.

7. in the hope that...: if you do something in the hope that it will have a good result, you do it because you hope it will make something good happen

备注:''in the hope that...''
