1.
beneficial
: actions, experiences,
changes etc. that are beneficial help to improve someone's situation or give
them an advantage
例:
Some insects are harmful but others are
beneficial.
(有些昆虫有害,有些昆虫有益。)

Cycling is highly beneficial to health and
the environment.

of use
: if someone or something
is of use, they are useful for you when you are doing something
例:
I hope you'll find the book of use.
(希望你觉得这本书有用,对你有帮助。)

handy
: useful - used especially
about something that is convenient and easy to use
备注:
''handy''
是非正式的用法。
例:
a handy little booklet
(一本有用的小册子)
The book is full of handy hints.
(这本书上有很多有用的线索。)
I always keep old jars - you never know
when they might come in handy (= be useful ).
(旧罐子我从不扔掉,没准什么时候能用上。)
Take your swimming trunks with you - they might come in handy.
(带上泳裤,可能会用得上。)
5.
worthwhile
: if doing something is
worthwhile, it is useful for you and you benefit from doing it :
例:
a worthwhile experience
(一段有用的经历)
The training was certainly worthwhile.
(这个培训非常有用,值得参加。)
6.
be good for (doing) something
: to
be suitable and useful for a particular job or purpose
备注:
''be good
for (doing) something''
常用于口语中。
例:
The table does take up a lot of space, but
it's good for parties.
(这张桌子确实占了很大空间,但是在派对上很好用。)
The big jars are good for storing pasta.
(这种大罐子用来装意大利面很好。)
7.
can't do/manage without
: use this
about someone or something that is so useful that it would be very difficult to
do something without them
形容某物非常有用,没它不行

常用于口语中。
例:
How do you manage without a washing
machine?
(你怎么能不用洗衣机?)
Of course we all have concerns about the
environment but you can't do without a car out here in the countryside with no
public transport.
(毫无疑问,我们都很关心环保,但是在这不通公车的乡间,没有私家车真的不行。)
Top TV chef Billy Williams says he couldn't
manage without his food processor: "It cuts down preparation time by about
half and saves you all those fiddly tasks."
