中文的形容词+名词，多以“形容词+的+名词”的形式出现，如“美丽的风景”；状语+动词，多以“状语+地+动词”的形式出现，如“慢慢地走”；动词+副词，多以“动词+得+副词”的形式出现，如“跑得快”、“跳得高”。英语中怎么表达“的地得”呢？我们来看看。

1. in a ... manner/way:

例：

The wedding ceremony was conducted in quite a formal manner. （这个婚礼办得非常正式。）

She was looking at me in a very strange way. （她非常奇怪地看着我。）

2. in a ... fashion: if you do something in a particular fashion, you do it in a particular way

备注："in a ... fashion"是正式的用法。

例：

There's no reason why we can't behave in a civilized fashion even though we're getting divorced. （即使是办离婚，我们也可以好好地谈啊！）

3. with:

with enthusiasm/care/envy/delight etc.: enthusiastically, carefully etc.

例：

A sign warned motorists to drive with care. （标志牌提醒司机小心驾驶。）

He has borne his illness with great courage. （他以极大的耐力和勇气忍受着这疾病。）

They set about tackling the problem with a great deal of enthusiasm. （他们用极大的热情开始着手解决这个问题。）

"My daughter's been selected for the Olympic team," she said, with understandable pride. （她自豪地说：“我女儿被选进奥运队了！”。）

4. like: in a particular way

例：

like this/that

You mustn't talk to people like that - it's very rude. （你不能那样跟人说话，太没礼貌了。）

They were all waving their arms around, like this. （他们都这样挥着手。）

like somebody (=in the same way as someone)

He stood bolt upright, like a soldier. （他像个士兵一样笔直地站着。）

He moves and talks just like his father. （他的言行举止都像他的父亲。）

5. -style: done or made in a way that is typical of a place, group of people etc - use this after another noun or adjective

备注："-style"常接在名词或形容词后面，组成一个复合词。

例：

Although he was educated in India, he went to an English-style boarding school. （他虽然是在印度上的学，但上的是英式寄宿学校。）

They live in a beautiful little country-style house on the edge of town. （他们住的房子紧挨小镇，是个很漂亮的充满乡土气息的小房子。）

He wore his gun at the hip, cowboy-style. （他像牛仔一样把枪别在胯上。）

6. along ... lines: if something is done along particular lines, it is done in a way that is similar to the way you have mentioned

例：

along socialist/military/institutional etc. lines

The school was run along almost military lines. （这个学校差不多是军事化管理。）

along the same/similar lines

We must have been thinking along the same lines, because we both said together, "Let's get out of here!"（我们想法肯定一样，因为我们异口同声说：“走！”）

7. as if/as though: in a way that seems to show that something has happened, something is true etc., even though this might not always be what has happened, what is true etc.

例：

Tom looked as if he'd seen a ghost. （汤姆看起来就像见了鬼一样魂不守舍的。）

She moved her legs slowly, as though in pain. （她慢慢地搬动自己的双腿，好像很痛苦的样子。）

8. with an air of: in a particular way - used in literature

备注："with an air of"是正式的用法。

例：

The affair had been conducted with an air of mystery which he disliked. （这件事做得很神秘，他不喜欢这样。）

Lily came out into the yard with an air of happy confidence. （莉莉满心欢心地走到院子里。）
