“关系冷漠”、“不友善”、“不好相处”的英语怎么说?

1.unfriendly/not friendly:

例:

It's very difficult to work with Kate - she's so unfriendly. (很难跟凯特一起共事,她很不友善,很难相处。)

I'm sorry if I sounded unfriendly on the phone - I was just tired. (要是电话里我的语气听起来不太友善的话,很抱歉啊。因为我太累了。)

The service at the hotel was bad and the staff weren't very friendly. (酒店服务很差,酒店工作人员也很不友善。)

unfriendly/not friendly to/towards

The other girls weren't openly unfriendly towards her, but they never invited her along with them. (大家并没有明摆着对她不好,只是从来不邀她一起玩。)

She used to get on well with her neighbors but now things aren't very friendly. (以前,她跟邻居都处得很好,现在好像没那么好了。)

Unfriendly relations between the two countries nearly led to war. (两国关系不好几乎导致交火。)

on unfriendly terms/not on friendly terms (=with an unfriendly relationship)

They've been on unfriendly terms ever since their argument. (他们吵完架后,关系一直不好。)

 

2.cold: behaving towards other people as if you do not like them or care about them

例:

His manner all evening was cold and unfriendly. (整晚他的态度都很冷淡。)

Next time she saw Harry he wasn't rude to her, just very cold. (她第二次见到哈利时,哈利的态度不算没礼貌,只是很冷淡。)

cold to

She was oddly cold to him, and I wondered what had happened. (她对他的态度特别冷淡,我很想知道出了什么事。)

 

3.cool: less friendly than usual, so that people do not smile at each other, talk to each other in a friendly way etc.

例:

The cool relationship between the two men affected the entire team. (这两个人关系不睦,影响了整个团队的表现。)

When Bill finally arrived, nearly an hour late, he got a rather cool reception. (比尔最后迟了一小时才到,欢迎仪式非常草率。)

 

4.inhospitable: unfriendly to people who are visiting your home or country by not doing anything to make them feel welcome

例:

Generally, the people I met in the city were rude and inhospitable. (总的来说,我在这里遇到的人都是没礼貌且不友善的。)

So many tourists had visited the monastery that the monks had grown somewhat inhospitable. (太多游客来修道院参观了,僧侣们变得有点不友善起来。)

 

5.give somebody the cold shoulder: to ignore someone and be unfriendly to them, especially because they have upset or offended you

备注:''give somebody the cold shoulder''用在非正式的场合。

例:

After I got the promotion, a few of my co-workers started giving me the cold shoulder. (我升职后,有些同事对我冷眼相待。)

 

6.frosty: very unfriendly, especially following an argument or because someone feels offended

例:

After their quarrel, things between Maria and her father were rather frosty. (玛利亚和她爸爸吵架后,关系变得很僵。)

 

7.turn sour: if a relationship turns sour , the people involved in it start to dislike each other and to behave in an unfriendly way towards each other

例:

After five years their marriage turned sour and ended in divorce. (他们结婚5年后,关系变得很不好,最后离婚了。)
