1. left: something or someone that is left is still there after everything or everyone else has gone or has been used

2. be left over: something that is left over , especially money or food, is still there after you have used everything that you need

例：

I pay all the bills and save any money that is left over. （我付了所有的账单，把剩下的钱存起来。）

After we've paid the bills, there's never much left over. （我们付了账单后，就没剩多少钱了。）

3. remaining: the remaining people or things are those that are left when the others have gone, been used, or been dealt with 

例：

Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes. （把剩下的材料加进去炖30分钟。）

4. to spare: if you have something such as money, time, or material to spare, there is some left after you have used as much as you need

例：

If you have time to spare, consider volunteering at your local school. （你要是有空，可以考虑在附近的学校做志愿者。）

5. to go: if you still have four miles, six hours, two years etc. to go , you have that distance or length of time left before a journey or period of time is over

例：

Only another mile to go! （只剩一英里了！）

We've got another couple of hours to go before finishing. （我们又有了几个小时来做完它。）
