1. open:

例：

It's very hot here. Do you mind if I open the window? （这里好热，你介不介意我开窗？）

The drawer's locked - you need a key to open it. （抽屉锁住了，得用钥匙才能开。）

open something wide

He opened the door wide, and gestured for me to come in. （他敞开大门，示意我进去。）

2. unlock: to turn the a key in the lock on a door, drawer, cupboard etc. so that you can open it

例：

Unlock the door! We can't get out! （把门打开！我们被锁在里面了！）

Which of these keys unlocks the safe? （保险箱的钥匙是哪把？）

"Come and see," Joe said, unlocking a huge iron gate. （“来看看。”乔边说边打开大铁门。）

3. force open: to open a drawer, window, cupboard etc. by using force, often with a tool 撬开

例：

The door's stuck - we'll have to force it open. （这门卡住了，我们得撬开它。）

force open something

The burglars had forced open the window with an iron bar. （小偷用铁条撬开了窗户。）

It looked as though the shed had been forced open. （小木屋好像被撬开了。）

4. break open: to open a container by using force, so that it is damaged 撬开、劈开

例：

break open something

We managed to break open the crate with an ax. （我们最终用斧头劈开了那个箱子。）

break something/it/them open

There's no key for the suitcase - we'll have to break it open. （这个行李箱钥匙不见了，我们得撬开它。）

5. prise open: to open something by forcing one part of it away from the other part, using a tool 撬开

备注："prise open"常用于英式英语中，美式英语中常作"pry open"。

All the flats were boarded up, but we managed to pry a few boards open. （所有房间的门窗都被木板钉死了，但最后我们还是撬开了几块木板。）

pry open something

Laura leaned forward to pry open the crate. （劳拉俯身想撬开箱子。）

pry the lid off (=remove the lid to open it)

I picked up the coffee tin and, using a knife, pried the lid off. （我拿起一罐咖啡，用小刀撬开盖子。）

6. try: to try to open a door or window in order to see if it is locked 转动门把或推门看看门有没有锁

例：

I knocked, then tried the door. It was open, but the room was empty. （我敲了门，发现门没锁，我推门进去，但房间里没人。）

I went around the back to try the windows, but they were all locked. （我走到后面去推窗户，但是打不开，都锁上了。）

7. break down: to completely break a locked door in order to get into a room or building 破门（而入）

例：

break down something

Firemen had to break the door down. （消防员只得破门而入。）

break something/it down

Open the door now or we'll break it down! （快开门！不然我们要撞门啦！）

8. wind down/roll down: to open a car window, especially by turning a handle 摇下车窗

备注："wind down/roll down"常用于英式英语中。

The driver wound down his window and asked us the way to the stadium. （这个司机摇下车窗，问我们去体育场怎么走。）

wind/roll something down

Mom, will you roll your window down a little please? （妈妈，把你那边的车窗摇下来一点好吗？）

9. open up: use this to tell someone to open a door 让某人开门

备注："open up"常用于口语中。
