英文里的“伤心、难过、沮丧”还能怎么表达,我们来看看。
1.
inconsolable
: so sad that other
people cannot make you feel happier, especially because someone has died or
because something very bad has happened
例:
After the death of her baby she was
inconsolable.
(她的孩子死了以后,她伤心欲绝。)
Doris was inconsolable. How could her
husband walk out on her like that?
(多瑞斯伤心欲绝,她丈夫怎么能那样抛下她就走了呢?)
2.
miserable
: extremely unhappy,
because of the situation you are in, especially because you are lonely, hungry,
cold etc.
例:
All the staff seemed to look miserable and
the atmosphere was not at all pleasant.
(所有的员工看起来都很难过,连气氛都很滞闷。)
3.
dejected
: sad and disappointed
because something you hoped for did not happen - use this especially when this
is shown in the way that someone looks, sounds etc.
例:
He looked utterly dejected when she told
him he'd failed again.
(她说他又没及格,他听了显得非常沮丧。)
Greg sounded dejected. "Anything
wrong?" I said.
(格莱德的语气听起来很沮丧。我问:“怎么啦?”)
One glance at the doctor's dejected
expression answered my question.

The unemployed stood at street corners,
dejected.

4.
downcast
: sad or disappointed
because of a situation or because something you hoped for did not happen
例:
Jamie seems very downcast at the moment. He
misses Jenny terribly.
(杰米现在非常难过,他很想念珍妮。)
"You mustn't be downcast" he
said. "You can always try again."
(他说:“别沮丧,生活永远都可以从头再来。”)
The photograph of her sitting on her own
made her look lonely and downcast.

team's loss.

5.
glum/gloomy
: sad because
something slightly bad has happened or you do not have much hope for the future
备注:
"glum/gloomy"
常用于非正式的场合。
例:
Don't look so glum! Things aren't as bad as
all that.
(别这么沮丧了,事情没那么糟糕。)
Monday morning? Feeling glum?
(因为今天是周一,所以心情不爽吗?)
Sorry to be gloomy. I've had a bit of a bad
day.
(抱歉,我今天过得很不爽,心情不好。)
The glum expression on the England
manager's face said it all.

6.
wistful
: someone who looks wistful
has a slightly sad and thoughtful expression on their face, especially because
they are thinking about the past or want something they cannot have
例:
Simon's face grew wistful as he thought
about his happy student days.
(想到自己快乐的学生时代,西蒙的脸上浮现出忧伤的表情。)
She looked at them with a wistful smile.
"I wish I could go with you.''
(她看着他,忧伤地笑了,“真希望我能跟你一起走。”)
7.
mournful
: looking or sounding
very sad, as if something very bad has happened
例:
I could hear the slow, mournful music of
the bagpipes.
(我能听到风笛缓慢忧伤的曲调传来。)
The dog lay at his feet, looking up from
time to time with big mournful eyes.
(狗狗趴在地上,时不时抬头看看,大眼睛里尽是忧伤。)
